2008年8月7日，格鲁吉亚对谋求独立的南奥塞梯地区展开军事行动,俄罗斯、阿布哈兹陆续参与到纷争之中，伤亡人数超过300人。冲突虽在一周内得到平息，但仍有约45000名平民成为了政治受害者，其中一部分难民通过逃难进入了格鲁吉亚的和平地区。对于该地区的普通人民而言，是否逃离家乡去寻求安宁都有相应的代价：留在本地需要持续遭受战争的侵扰，而逃离有需要承受颠沛流离的困难。两种选择都包含着战争的不稳定性影响，这构成了项目切入的基础。书中收录的所有图片有一个共性:均是非专业的习惯性记录，重复、虚焦、重影、动作不协,这些所谓废片与成片的“不稳定组合”，可从一定程度上反应格鲁吉亚宗教的民族的、领土的内生矛盾下存在的另类“不稳定”。从另一个角度看，捕获到的图像的“纰漏”在一定程度上的确丰满了捕获瞬间的时空关系。

On August 7, 2008, Georgia launched a military operation against the independence-seeking region of South Ossetia, with Russia and Abkhazia getting involved in the dispute, with more than 300 casualties. All the images included in the book have one thing in common: they are all non-professional habitual records, repetitions, defocuses, heavy shadows, and incongruous movements, and these so-called “unstable combinations” of waste and finished films can, to a certain extent, reflect the alternative “instability” that exists under the endogenous contradictions of Georgia’s religions, nationalities, and territories. Stability”. From another point of view, the “mistakes” of the captured images do, to a certain extent, enrich the spatial and temporal relations of the captured moments.
